Last night we watched a total lunar eclipse. It was awesome, watching the shadow of the earth start covering up the bright full moon, creeping forward until the moon was totally covered. Then the process reverses and the shadow starts retreating and finally the full moon was once more shining in all it's glory.
Think about it, life is like a series of eclipses that come from time to time. Sometimes, if we are lucky, the first shadow does not totally eclipse our life, we just have a partial eclipse before pulling out and coming back into the brightness once more. But when there is a total eclipse, it may seem like the darkness is overwhelming and all-consuming.
As I was watching, the moon darkened and behold, the stars shone brighter and were so clearly visible. Every constellation clearly marked in the night sky. The Milky Way sprawled across the firmament like a luminescent cloud. And I thought, it is the same with life. When things are going really well, all is bright and we miss seeing the small lights that sparkle in our world. We fail to appreciate how beautiful they really are. So, next time don't wait for an eclipse. Tell your personal stars how much you love them, how much they mean to you. Waiting for a total eclipse of the heart is waiting too long. Remember to see and be thankful. Speak your love today, tomorrow may be too late.
